Neha Dhupia was born on August 27, 1980 in Kochi. Her father Pradip Singh is an officer in Indian Navy and mother Manpinder, is a homemaker. She has a brother Hardeep, who works with Jet Airways.
As a child, she did her primary schooling in Vizag, and then she attended Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi, and she finally graduated with History Hons. from Jesus and Mary College in Delhi.
Neha started her career at the age of 19, in a TV serial Rajdhani, produced by Bobby Bedi. She was interested in modeling and while doing so, she got to represent many brands like Reebok, National, Pepsi, LG, Gillet, maruti, Meena Bazar and Mitsubishi Lancer.
She then participated in Miss India contest (2002), and won the contest and she was crowned the title by Celina Jaitley. This title entitled her to participate in Miss Universe contest (2002), though she could not win the title, she finished amongst the top 10 in the contest.
Career in Movies
Neha Dhupia joined the Bollywood bandwagon with Harry Baweja's Qayamat: City Under Threat (2003) and music video Euphoria. Qayamat is an action-packed thriller starring a number of Bollywood actors including Ajay Devgan, Sunil Shetty, Sanjay Kapoor, Arbaaz Khan, Isha Koppikar. She rose to popularity with her bold role in the film Julie (2004), which gave her the status of a sex symbol. Her next role was in film Sheesha (2005) where she played the dual role of twin sisters, but unfortunately this movie did not do well at the box office. She has continued to appear in films such as Kyaa Kool Hai Hum (2005) and Shootout at Lokhandwala (2007) which did well at the box office and recently appeared in a segment of the anthology film Dus Kahaniyaan (2007).
